Peter Doyle

Town Board

Hi, I’m Peter Doyle, and I’m running for re-election for Mendon Highway Superintendent

I’m a proud lifelong resident of Honeoye Falls and Mendon, bringing over 60 years of local knowledge, public service and hands-on experience in the trucking and construction industry. This community has shaped who I am, and I’m ready to give back by serving in a role that keeps Mendon moving forward.

My roots here run deep. My family moved to Honeoye Falls when I started kindergarten because my mother was the high school Phys Ed teacher. I am a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School. After graduation, I answered the call to serve and enlisted in the United States Army, where I spent two years on active duty followed by two years in the Army Reserves as a finance specialist. I’m proud to continue that commitment as a member of the Honeoye Falls American Legion Post 664.

After my military service, I used the G.I. Bill to attend Monroe Community College, where I studied Fire Protection Technology. At the same time, I acquired my commercial driver’s license and began a decades-long career in the trucking and construction fields. I went on to own and operate Shamrock Equipment Transport, serving more than 125 dealers and contractors throughout the region.

Public service has always been at the heart of my life. I joined the Honeoye Falls Fire Department at 20 years of age and worked my way through the ranks, ultimately serving as Fire Chief. I have continued that commitment as a Warden on the Board of Directors. I also became a certified EMT and proudly served with the Honeoye Falls Mendon Ambulance as Chief of Operations. I am honored to be a life member of both organizations.

As your Highway Superintendent, my priority continues to be Mendon First. My goals are clear and focused on results.

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility and efficient budgeting
  • Enhance snow and ice control operations for safer travel
  • Improve and repair road conditions throughout the Town
  • Continue the proven plan for equipment replacement and upgrades
  • Strengthen internal communication and improve employee working conditions
  • I’ve initiated better, more affordable healthcare for employees and retirees
  • I’ve fostered better communication with residents through social media
  • I’ve addressed questions and concerns promptly
  • Continue working with local organizations to enhance and build a stronger community

The change in leadership has made the Highway Department run smoothly and this positive momentum must continue. I have brought a management style that listens, acts, and puts the community first. With a lifetime of service and a strong work ethic, I’m ready to continue working for the people of Mendon .
